My current obsession: 55 Fiction

I always thought that writing 55 fiction post is tough. I always wondered that how would one manage to summarize all the thoughts in mere 55 words? Well many have beautifully done it. Want to see a sample then check AS and Hary's blogs. You will get an idea about what I am talking about. I tried writing four '55 fictions' today (anyways I was jobless in office today and even my boss was not around, so I took fayda of this golden opportunity).



Fiction-1:



His heart was thumping fast at the rate of 144 beats per seconds; sweat trickled down his forehead like rain drops. It was a now or never situation for him. He leant forward to bravely end his woes; when suddenly he stopped and said loudly, “Haila, I forgot to write my suicide note”.



Fiction-2:



Her fingers were furiously tapping the keys as she thought aloud…"if the boss calls on sunday; I won't come, I will sunao him". While heading towards the canteen for a break, her boss mailed her saying that, “Natasha you have to come on Sunday” to which she meekly replied... “ok, will be there’.



Fiction 3:

He gave a huge speech on ‘Importance of keeping the city green’. He spoke about global warming and encouraged people to make the city green. After the speech as he drove his merc, he pulled down the window pane, threw a green banana peel and said ‘dekha I made my city green’

I know fiction 3 was terrible...hope the 4th fiction is better.



Fiction 4:



It’s been a month since he touched the cigarettes. His wife knew something was amiss and mockingly enquired about the untouched cigarette packet; he smiled and said “I have quit smoking; it’s my gift for our 25th anniversary”. His wife hugged him and said “No use lying, I have seen the medical reports in your drawer”



P.S: I know, it's a bit okayish...but it's just a rough try. Hope I improvise with time. Until then you can praise the existing fictions.

    Well this form of writing , I have tried But somehow never managed to get it right. SO I dont try it anymore.

    Your writing is good, I liked Fiction 1.. TIll the last line different thoughts came to mind..

    and Fiction 2 THAT ME .. I can relate to it so very well. and with constant reminder of Hours to be completed..

    Fiction 4 :- was good too, the suttle way you put it and dont worry BIT OKAYISH is better then NOT writing at all.. like me :)
    at least you tried and thats what matters most ..

    I liked Fiction 3 most... But I am not to interested in these pachpan fixon thingy!! But as you said your first attempts... nice try! :P

    Hi Bikram...try writing it again probably you will get it right. Coz even I was unsure if could write it, but I guess i could manage. Thanks for your response.

    Abhi...ab tak pachpan nahi likha? Thanks actually the 3rd fiction ws a joke that my college friend had cracked during college days. It's not original...the rest were original though :)

    Aha. So i discovered just now the Eggs & Tamatars are disappearing to. Have mercy:D As for your 55fictions, first is best and the last hmmmIt's dicey to comment on that.:)

    hi communi...even i found it difficult to write a 55er...somehow i tried and wrote 4 of them...yes it takes a bit of time to write them as we are so used to writing lengthy essays, letters and answers in our exams as kids

    Writing 55 fiction is really hard and you Have written 4... Great :) :)

    Good attempt! Wudn't call it the best coz u can definitely write better..after all Fiction 55 doesn't mean to write in 55 secs..:P
    i wrote my first after spending a lot of time and it came out well in the end. but its not published in my blog as it is dedicated to someone...:)

    though my idea of 55 Fiction is telling a whole story thru this medium rathr thn js incidents..
